New Member w/ Ablation Questions

Hi Everyone,

I am considering having the endometrial ablation, but I have some questions. I have had heavy bleeding for years which is controlled fairly well with BCPs. Unfortunately I still get the bloating, cramping, breast tenderness and headaches that go along with my period even on the pill. Would the ablation help with any of these other symptoms, or would it just help with the heavy bleeding?

I had an EA 7months ago and 2D&Cs before that.Everything was find,then I started have bad ones again.My last period was very heavy w/clots and lasted 19 days.I went to the doctor this morning and he told me that nothing else could be done other than a hysterectomy.I really need help as I am only 28.I do have kids and do not any more but I am feeling really blue about this.I almost feel like a failure as a woman.Thanks for listening.

SO, I pretty much have the same periods I did before I had the procedure done, with the exception that now my breasts burn... yes burn from time to time, but during my PMS week it was horrible!!! I don't know... I saw my doctor two weeks post op but I am considering calling him because I am getting pretty upset thinking that this didn't work for me after all.

Bowel movements and bleeding

OK, it has been about a year and a half since my ablation. This morning I had a bowel movement, no straining...I know TMI! and I started bleeding bright red. It seemed to stopped quickly, but now I am getting cramping and back pain. I am so nervous my heavy bleeding will come back. I am going to freak! I just started feeling somewhat comfortable now this. Has this happened to anyone??? Also it is only day 19 if this is my period beginning.

Hi I'm Cyndi. I'm just checking out to see what the real scoop is on ablation. My periods went from light to gross 2 years ago and i'm tired of dealing with it. I saw a Novasure brochure in my Drs. office and i'm debating doing it at the same time as i get my tubes tied. Has anyone of you done both at the same time? Any info would be helpful

Hi. I am 31 years old and a mother of two boys. I have been on the pill for 16 years to control my irregular periods, however that method is not working any longer. 3 years ago i had a D&C to stop a period that lasted for two months. Now my periods come at random times and last for weeks. Typically i take my pill continuously just so i don't get a period every month, but that has proven pointless for the last year or so. First I want to say that I do really like my doctor that did my novasure ea, and she says she is very experienced at doing these procedures, actually trained many doctors when this became a popular procedure. I am three months post ea and all in all very happy with the results. The bleeding continues to get lighter and shorter. PMS has really improved other than the bloat. The one thing that has become very severe and totally different from pre ea is very swollen and sore breasts and...

Well for starters let me say there is no cancer and no endometriosis.....however he found that I have an enlarged uterus and also found it attached to a muscle wall by scar tissue or adhesions as he called them. He said that I have a few choices....one being shots that he does nto recommend because of the enlarged uterus he felt it would do nothing for me....second being he could open my abdomen and go in and clean all the adhesions out but I would still have a chance of the enlarged uterus...

Hi everyone,
I'm Charlene and I'm schedule for the Novasure procedure on the 13th. Other than some percoset and vicodin I won't be under any anesthetic. I have a pretty good tolerance for pain but I guess I'm afraid of the unknown. Can someone tell me how long this will take from the time they have me in stirups to the time the take me out of them? I'm thinking of cancelling but I don't really want to if it could change my life.

I had EA 7 months ago,everything was fine at first.I went 3 months with no periods,then started having one that lasted 10 days for 1month,now for 2 months they have been HEAVY with clots again.The one I am on now has lasted 16 days.Do I need to see my doctor or is this normal?Any help would be great.Thanks
