Hi again, Prissy.  At 52 I'm still having periods (irregular, but still there).  I went nine weeks after my ablation before the first one hit, and I had begun to celebrate.  That was last June and I was celebrating way too early...  I sometimes skip a month, and sometimes have 'em 11 days apart but there's no sign of them stopping.

It sounds to me like your hormones are out of kilter.  It could be the hormone blitz, or maybe stress, or maybe you're just not at menopause yet.  My gyn (ray of sunshine that he is) told me he's seen women go to age 58 before stopping completely...

Hang in there.  I'm betting your doctor will tell you to give it a couple more months before you do any further investigating.  And yeah, I hear you about being too old for this foolishness... ornery ovaries are NO FUN!!!!
