August 24th will be here before you know it. Ask if they can give anything to counter the nausea - when my brother was having chemo they gave him something that worked wonderfully and after the first day he had no nausea whatsoever. Let the doctor know how you have reacted in the past to anasthetic, and they may be able to do something for you.

If you can, fill your pain med prescriptions ahead of time, and start taking them at the first sign of pain. Don't let it get too bad or they will not work as well. Drink lots of fluids afterwards, since the pain meds may make you a little constipated, and your body will require extra fluids to recover. Rest for a few days, it is still surgery after all. You won't be able to lift much for a few days, and no baths or tampons for at least two or three weeks.

Good luck, and post when you are felling up to it to let us know how you are doing.
