Just wanted to encourage you. I had the Novasure ablation last Wednesday. What amazed me was the feelings I had when I got my surgery date that this is the end on my ever being able to have kids (although I have 3, youngest is 15 and am definitely done having kids, am 46 and expecting my first grandchild in a couple of weeks), I was not expecting those feelings, but it was reassuring to read on the boards here that it is normal. I was very nervous about the general anesthesia as I have not had surgery before and the last time I was actually in a hospital for myself was when I had my last child 15 years ago, although this was done at a surgery center and not the hospital. I was out like a light after they gave me their little cocktail to relax me. Remember a few snipits of moving to the other table and putting my arms out but other than that I don't remember a thing. Had no nausea thank goodness, but know they can give you stuff that will help it right away if you still have your IV in. Cramps started coming about 30 minutes after coming out of it, so it would be a good idea to get the pain meds before the surgery and take one right away. We got them on our way home and I had to send my husband back in to get some water so I could take one before we got home. The next day I was fine. My advice-Stay in your PJ's and let others take care of you for a few days. Bleeding was really only for the first day. I a down to just wearing pantyliners for the watery discharge. So far so good. Have stopped taking the birth control pills so will wait and see what the results are. Hang in there and tell your doctor if the anxiety gets too much as they can give you something for that also.
