I've read that unless it's a mild case, adenomyosis usually isn't helped by an endometrial ablation, and the ablation can often make the pain worse. While adenomyosis can be diagnosed by MRI, it typically isn't discovered until the time of a hysterectomy is done and pathology reports the findings.

When it comes to pains that disappeared and came back again, or were never there and showed up longer after the ablation, don't forget to keep an open mind to something that might not even be related to the ablation. Sometimes we get so focused on problems associated with our uterus that we forget there are other organs in there that can act up, too. I'm not up on all of my anatomy, but left side could indicate colon, right side appendix, etc. Exploratory laparoscopic surgery can help find things like endometriosis (which is outside the uterus and can cause issues for some of the other organs in there). If your gyn isn't having any success finding a cause for your problems, maybe a consult with a family physician or a different kind of specialist could be in order.

That's my two cents. I wish all of you who are having pain and discomfort the best of luck in getting it resolved.

Take care,
