Jamie, Google had me totally freaked out too and I almost cancelled mine before I found this board. There ARE women who have problems with the ablation, but the percentage is very low. It's deceptive when you see post after post with problems.

I had Novasure done. My doctor assured me that there were a lot of fail-safes built into it. She told me that early on, the doctors were able to override the fail-safes but that is no longer an option. After I finally relaxed, took a deep breath and started thinking it out more, I decided that it was the right thing to do for me and I went for it.

Everything went great -- the procedure was easy, I didn't need my painkillers and I returned to work in 2 days. I've only had one period since then and it was like the last 4 days of my previously 10 days periods. It was like I skipped the awful part. And I know it's only going to get better from here. I was surprised to find that some of my coworkers and some other mothers I know have had this done and they were all very glad that they did. Anyway, I'm happy with my result and I'm very glad that I did this.

Oh, and as far as weight gain afterwards, I was really bloated for 3 weeks -- REALLY bloated -- but that ended and since then I have lost 5 lbs.

Anyway, that's just my 2cents for what it's worth.
