When I first found the board, it was the result of a google search using the terms "emotional effects of ablation." I landed in a thread about some pretty significant emotional side effects to the procedure and because very nervous, too. I almost cancelled my procedure. But, for me, I'm in a position where I either needed to try the ablation or decide on a hysterectomy and all of the life-long effects of that. I've done everything else, including natural medicine.

What really helped me get over my nerves and move forward was coming back to this forum and reading through the month-by-month threads to see how most people's recoveries went. I started at 1 month and read up through a year (I only read the first two pages of each thread for time's sake). Reading how much improvement so many women have had really impressed me and I decided it was worth the risk. It was also really helpful to see how the recovery progressed for many people - now I feel like I have much more realistic and positive expectations.

I hope that helps! Sometimes we just have to search out the good news.
