Charli, you have a great story too. For those who are only finding scary stories in their research, I will share mine too. I had a hydro-thermal ablation in Fall of 2009, but due to endometriosis, ovarian cysts, etc. there was a lot going on in that surgery besides the ablation, including the incisons from a laparoscopy. I lost 1 ovary and 2/3 of the other. Plus I had a D&C and my tubes tied as well as the ablation. The ablation seemed to help the heaviness of my periods, but I began getting 2 periods a month and really only had a week or so with no blood at all. I went back to my doctor and asked for a 2nd ablation--Novasure. She agreed that it was a good idea since I had tried birth control pills with no success and my bleeding was hormonal in nature. I didn't want to go for a big hysterectomy surgery and I want to keep my remaining sliver of ovary since it does provide me hormones still (hence the bleeding).

I had the Novasure yesterday. In and out of the hospital in a few hours. I figured my pain meds would wear off and I'd be miserable. I haven't taken anything yet; I have no pain at all, just a bit tired from the general anesthesia. Light spotting only, no cramping. I was on Lupron for 3 months before this so that my lining could be thin and a good "burn" would occur. I cannot say it is the same for everyone, but I really expected much worse. I feel quite normal. A dear friend of mine also had the Novasure with similar results and she is period free over a year now.

I just wanted to share some good examples for those on the fence. The decision is not easy; I paid a hefty co-pay for the procedure and I am generally afraid to be put under, but I'm extremely hopeful for this result and I think it was worth it!
