Hi Taz,

I hope these next two weeks go quickly for you. The anticipation can sometimes be exhausting! I always found it helpful to keep busy with my normal routine and try not to think about it too much. I had maybe a week between when I scheduled my possible hysterectomy (it wasn't a given until the doc was "in there" and got a look around) and the surgery date. During that time I also had Lasik (which actually had more complications than my hysterectomy), had to fit in my pre-op (double-booked the doctor since his appts were already full), took the day off before to go to the State Fair, and worked the morning of surgery since it wasn't scheduled until 1:00 in the afternoon. No time for nerves!

Like you said, you have some previous experience to draw on now, knowing a little about the whole surgery routine. Let that be calming and reassuring for you. It's always more comfortable if you know what's going on, and that you made it through something similar before. So don't waste your energy worrying...save it for healing afterwards. Hopefully it won't be long before you can look back and say, "I feel great! I'm really glad I did this for ME."

Keep us posted. We'll be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Take care,
Anita
