Oh, Mom2!! You are very sweet. It would great if we lived closer just visit instead of just talking through this forum!! Anyway, I am very fortunate to have my Mom living right upstairs. She owns a double home (up and down); she lives upstairs and I rent the downstairs apartment from her. It has worked out well for both us - we have our own space but are close enough if either one of us needs anything. I did go grocery shopping and stocked up on my favorites of chicken, salmon and tuna...also have some burgers in the freezer. Add in the staples of cereal, string cheese, and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese...it should be just fine.

I haven't heard yet about my pre-op testing. I wish they would call so that I can get that on the schedule. Next week is going to be pretty busy...I also have been going back and forth with people regarding my blood thinners. When I am 'bridged" off of my Coumadin, I will begin taking shots of a medicine called Lovenox. These shots are given twice a day in the abdomen. I will take those up to the night before surgery. I've been trying to find out if there is any place I should not give myself the shots - so that I don't complicate anything with the abdominal surgery. No seems to understand what I'm asking in order to relay it correctly to the doctor who will be doing the surgery. FOUR times I've been going back and forth and I get the same answer - the Coumadin Clinic will bridge you; the hospital will assist you with the Lovenox shots after surgery; etc. They don't seem to communicate my concern with the doctor of the shots I take BEFORE surgery. I don't want a black and blue mark or injection mark where he is going to make any incisions. Perhaps it is a small point and it doesn't matter really. But it matters to me. I want to make sure that I don't do anything that might delay the surgery. (Sigh.)

Thanks again, Mom2 and Anita. I know this is an ablation forum - but I so appreciate hearing from regarding this...Have a great day!

47 years old; no children
On Coumadin for lifetime because of repeated blood clots
Menstrual cycle was completely normal until I started Coumadin in February, 2012.  Then all heck broke loose...blood, blood, blood...to the point of nearly passing out.  Hence the reason for the above procedures! Pathology from EA indicated issues, so I had a hysterectomy on March 18, 2013
