I went through a similar experience although mine went bad 10 days after the Novasure. My doctor was very understanding of my desire for the hysterectomy to be a last resort. She researched doing a second ablation with a method other than Novasure, but decided there wasn't enough evidence that a second ablation would work. When hormones didn't work (a depo shot in my case), she decided to do a D&C and remove a fibroid. I believe that D&C is more of an old school method to treat heavy bleeding that used to be done prior to the current ablation methods. The problem with a D&C is that it typically is a temporary solution, and your wife is still pretty far away from menopause. My main problem appears to have been the fibroid. Has your wife's doctor mentioned if she has any?
