Oh, Flikwrtr, I'm so sorry to hear about all the issues you're been experiencing. You will read on this forum every kind of outcome from bloodless and incredibly healed to more problems than one ever anticipated. Every woman, while sharing some of the same post-procedure issues, is very different. I myself was one of the lucky ones - I was one of the bloodless few (one who had no bleeding every month at all), although the cramping I experienced every month after my EA was intense (20 Tylenol in 48 hours just to barely function - yeah, yeah, way over the recommended daily dose!).

Please do remember that it does take three to four months to get to a new normal and to see how well the ablation "took." I myself had spotting and discharge for a little over six weeks after my ablation. That included two periods. However, after that time, each period got lighter and lighter, although the cramping, again, got worse).

Your doctor should absolutely have told you about the horse riding and other restrictions ahead of time. When it comes to the kind of procedure done, I myself was supposed to have the hydrothermal procedure, but my doctor encountered problems once "in there" and had to switch to Novasure for me. I can understand changing procedures without clearing it with you - when under general anesthesia, it may not have been an option (like my doctor had to switch). But that should have been explained to you afterward.

I do hope that you do heal from this and that you feel better soon. I hope that the issues that have arisen will subside and you will be back to normal (minus the pain and blood!) very, very soon. It doesn't sound like you are someone who will let others walk over you - and don't let them do it now either. Keep reading, keep talking, keep researching...and see where you are by about four months after your procedure. Take care of yourself as best you can every day...Keep us updated, okay?

D&C, hysteroscopy, and NovaSure (HTA was attempted, but ended being a "no go") on July 16, 2012

On Coumadin for lifetime because of repeated blood clots
Menstrual cycle was completely normal until I started Coumadin in February, 2012.  Then all heck broke loose...blood, blood, blood...to the point of nearly passing out.  Hence the reason for the above procedures! Pathology from EA indicated issues, so I had a hysterectomy on March 18, 2013
