Believe me, many a mom who has a little one who decides to become a budding naturist has resorted to this as a way to keep the diaper on. Duct tape does not come off the way those little things the diapers come with do. And it does come in rather pretty colors these days. My father always said that duct tape has a million and one uses and I truly believe that he was right. So did I miss those good cookies? I love chocolate chip. They are my all time favorites. Thanks Diane!!! And we have an Anita here too? Good tidings and welcomes to both!! I'm sorry I missed you, but it's been one of those days. (Did you guys remember to put the TP in the bathroom?) I'll be back early afternoon tomorrow to let you know how things go with the therapist lady. Who knows, I may wind up firing her! Then it's another PT day. then my appt. with the GYN doc on Thursday and no idea what's on for Friday except that I've gotta go see the vampire and get my rat poison level checked. Deb I'm so glad you went and got the blood drawn. You are going to be OK cause we're all in this with you. You are going to have so many good thoughts and prayers coming at you on the day of that everybody in Heaven is going to be looking on just to see what all the excitement is about. Jackie, take care of that asthma. It must have been pretty bad for them to put you on steroids. As I mentioned above I used to have it and I know it isn't anything to fool around with. Ok, anybody else I can go "mom" on? You guys should be glad you only have to deal with me online!! I'm a very mommish person, though I will back off if you ask me to. I've gotta get to bed. I'm home from my jewelry show and finally in my jammies!! The show went well, but I'm tired....been staying up too late! It is 12:15 a.m. here and I'll probably be up for a while longer. The show went a little long (we were waiting on someone to show up) and it was about 45 minutes away from home. Then I stopped a Walgreens to poke around and get some things....(no pads or tampons this time...or ever!! Bwaaaahaaaahaaaa!! ) Okay...here's a funny story! My sister in law came in the house the other day with a huge sack from the store...and in it was a HUGE bag of HUGE pads and a HUGE box of SUPER tampons!! LOL I asked her if she was getting ready to have a period party or something and she laughed and said Ms. Flow had already come to start the party! I smiled soooooo big and said, "I probably won't ever have to buy those again!!" "But I'll keep my old ones in the cabinet for YOU!" LOL LOL LOL Then, tonight, while we were at our Hostess' house, I went into the bathroom, and there on the counter was a tampon! I thought it might belong to my sister in law, but I wasn't entirely sure and I didn't want to steal the Hostess' tampon, if it belonged to her...so I left it on the counter! We were getting into the car and I said, "Hey....I saw a tampon on the counter....was it yours?" and she just gasped and said, "Oh my gosh....YES!! I forgot it!! Did you get it?" and I said, "NO....I wasn't sure if it was yours and I didn't want to take it if it wasn't!" LOL So....we left a tampon at her house! LOL The other night...my purse spilled over and out popped a panty liner, for all to see!! I was mortified! But, I just shrugged and said, "Sorry....I just had surgery and I need it!" LOL We all cracked up! One day, my sister in law actually had to borrow a tampon from a hostess! LOL She was soooo embarrassed, but what are ya gonna do? Bleed all over someones house?! LOL So I told her tonight that she was 'at one' with the Tampon Gods!! She took one and she left one....perfect tampon Karma! LOL I told her she actually 'payed it forward' because she left a nicer tampon than the one she borrowed...it was a terrible generic brand! LOL Okay...enough tampon humor! Joan...glad to see you back here, but sorry you are feeling tired and run-down!! The duct tape idea is great, but he is so smart and so flexible, he would get himself out of that too! It's hard now, because he is trying to go to the potty, so he feels like he has the priviledge to drop trow when ever he pleases!! UGH! I hope everything goes well at the vampire's on Friday! Maybe if you take your string of garlic, your cross and a wooden stake, he might get the hint and say your levels are perfect and tell you he is through seeing you....GO HAVE YOUR ABLATION!! Well....we can hope can't we?! Deb...good for you for getting your blood drawn!! How are you doing with it all....are you freaking out because of it? Just like Joan said...we are all here with you and we will help you get through it!! You are gonna do great!!!! Just one more week!! YAY! I hope everyone starts doing better with their asthma and colds and what not!! Please....just keep your elbows to yourself for now!! ;-) I'm gonna scoot for now....my sister in law is bringing her kids over tomorrow for me to babysit while she goes to the doctor and get her nails done. My sweetie got up to sleep in the guest room because I was tossing and turning so much that I got up instead so he could sleep. The prednisone makes me wired. I have 7 days of this but at least the dose decreases each day. It also makes me want to eat everything in sight. WHERE ARE THOSE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES???? LOL I am feeling better. I can at least breath without wheezing. I usually don't get attacks this early in the season. Usually the end of July, August and the beginning of September are my bad months. The air quality here is usually really bad here then, especially when the temp gets into the 90's. Joan if I learned one thing about going to PT it's that you never tell your therapist that it's easy. They will always make it harder. With my shoulder this year, they had me lay down and then punch my arm in the air. At first I had to use my other arm just to lift it, then I could do it myself, then one day I said how easy it had become so then they brought on the weights. Mistake, big mistake!!!! Yay Deb. Glad you sucked it up and got that blood work done. I also hate to get that done. When I had surgery in January this guy at the hospital took blood and I had the biggest bruise where he drew the blood from. He wasn't very good at it. Then I went to my family doc for my regular checkup and they took blood and I didn't even feel it. That's the kind I like. It also makes the surgery more real. But remember we are here for you.I'm going to need you to do the same in 4 weeks and 6 days (not that I'm counting). Shannon - Did you lift boxes tonight at your jewelry show? The tampon story is great. When I was in high school (a very long time ago) I was sent to the principal's office over a tampon. In study hall someone got a tampon out and started tossing it around the table. Our MACHO P.E. teacher came by and wanted to know who it belonged to and no one answered. You know...teenaged girls...gym teacher...jerk...we weren't telling...so he sent all of us to the principal. Did they do anything about it....NOOOOOOO. Apparently not claiming a tampon was not high on the list of offenses. I don't think throwing a tampon was in the discipline code book. LOL Can you tell I have nothing to do? I'm rambling about throwing tampons in high school. Cheryl - Is your hobbit better? Are you still well rested or do you need rest? Laura - How was work? I bet you were exhusted when you got home. First of all, thanks for the support. Joan, what you said yesterday was exactly what I needed to hear, and it came exactly when I needed to hear it. Mostly I think I'm ok with the upcoming surgery, and I'm not showing any outward signs of stress, but sometimes those doubts manage to creep in there and fester. And now that I'm OFF THE ANTIBIOTICfestering things are not good to have. Other things that are not good to have are those potential pre-op visions. You will not believe what my Hobbit did to me yesterday! He thinks the whole idea of "surgery by balloon" is pretty cool (he wouldn't think so if it were going after his prostate!) and we were talking about it over dinner and he jokingly asked if the doctor would be wearing clown make-up and making the balloon into little animals. So NOW I'm going to see John Cleese in a speedo, with a multi-coloured wig on his head, a red nose, a margarita in one huge hand, and a parrot shaped balloon animal in the other. He won't even need to be silly walking! And you all know how it works, right? Someone tells you not to think of an elephant and the first thing you see in your mind's eye is an elephant. Well, don't even TRY to tell me not to see John Cleese, cuz I know he's going to be there anyway! Hmmm... tampon stories, eh? My mother has had a couple of small strokes so she's on a blood thinner. She also tends to get nosebleeds, and she had one last year that was a doozy! She went to Emerg and they finally got the bleeding under control and packed her nose and told her to come back in 48 hours and they'd remove the packing. Yup! You guessed it! The doctor pulled a tampon out of there!!! Can you imagine? Surely to God it was a "slim". Laura, do you work full time? If so, this is going to be a really long week! Take it super easy-- nothing but work, home, couch! Though it sounds like you're managing pretty well. How are you feeling REALLY? As for the time difference... I'm on Pacific time, so I'm the earliest of all of us (I think-- Laura, where are you?) and there's eight hours between here and Cheryl in England. I think it's three between me and Joan in New York. I couldn't tell you about Oklahoma or Kentucky-- ladies? Can you fill us in? The whole thing is really pretty mind-boggling. (I actually get to time-travel in October because I arrive back in Vancouver two hours before I leave Japan! I plan to get on the plane and say "Beam me up, Scotty!") And now I need breakfast, a mini-workout (not going to put too much stress on the body this soon after being sick), and to get my day going. I go see my GP this afternoon for some more asthma medication-- hopefully to get me through til the fall. Then it's back to work tomorrow. I'll check in again at the end of the day. 'nough said. As for time zones, The part of KY I'm from is on eastern time. Same as Joan I believe. I think you're right about it being a three hour time difference. Dr. Hottie's office did a screw up. I got a call this morning saying that Dr. Hottie wanted me to have my pap test repeated before I had my EA. I said, "again, I just had it done last week." She was like "you did". DUH!!!!!! Someone forgot to mark me off the call back list. So then she checked the computer (I guess she didn't believe me.) and came back with the results aren't in yet. Got to go. I have an appt. to get my hair cut and also become younger (hair colored). Have a great day! Jackie

Maybe they could start using that in their marketing! Anyhow, good to hear that you got the bloodwork done. I didn't have to do that before my ablation. They just made me pee in a cup that morning for a pregnancy test. (After giving me instructions that I couldn't have anything to drink after midnight before the appointment...how am I supposed to fill the cup if I'm running on empty?) I kind of thought the pregnancy test was a moot point. If it came out positive, I was pretty sure the news would have been delivered by angels or something! When I had my pre-op for my surgery last August, the doctor was nice enough to defer my bloodwork until the day of my surgery. Maybe the lack of prep is what made it seem not quite as major during the days leading up to it, I don't know. Shannon, I think Joan is on the right track with the duct tape idea. Maybe you just need to apply it differently. Like duct tape suspenders for the diapers. Or maybe a duct tape straightjacket for your little guy! Think creatively. So we never play in the house or the yard when Auntie flo is here or even when she brings her spotty daughter Muddyline!!!! Had Auntie here from march to september last year and she really wore her welcome out ( curtesy of the merina coil AAAArgh!!!!) I think I might be a bit conservative in that respect and I know it wouldnt have ended well and I never liked the texas chain saw masacre re enactment or otherwise. Ornery Hobbit is not bothered but sadly I am, having the EA has ment I am a bit more relaxed and dont hop off for a bath every time we play in the house!!!! Had pre op preggers test on the day!! ha ha even bet the nurse it would be negative and cursed her for making me pee when I had only just come back from the toilet!!!! MS bladder never plays when you want it to I can usually pee at the drop of a hat. and having the coil still in situ and a months worth of northisterone on top of PCOS I was pretty sure I wasnt, but my doc didnt put any restrictions on pre op playtime so we did have a quick game or two the morning of my EA and it doesnt seem to have done any harm. Honest indjuns though cut the 2 week non jiggy restriction down to 12 days as had a few too many first night of holiday and woke up the next day with that OMG hope I didnt do myself an injury but just couldnt help myself, I know I know I am a %@#@ I just cant help it. Said Hobbit turned up sniffing last night and two bottles of wine later and the only thing that would of stopped me is if he didnt have a pulse, wicked way had so I am all sweetness and light now, hes off for a meeting and will be back later so might have a repeat performance. A blood test the week before (no sex after , which I've already whined about) and a pee in the cup test the day of. Maybe it's because I'm not on birth control. I go away for a morning and come back and you' ve all been having fun without me!!! Oh well, I'm not much fun right now anyway. I'm beginning to think I'm just going to be tired for the rest of my life. I'm going to take a nap soon. We've got errands to run when the Hobbit gets home--bank, pharmacy, etc. So I need to get some energy stored. So you live in Vancouver Deb. What a beautiful place it is!! I've never been there but I've seen lots of pictures. Also, all of you who live in the states might not be aware of this but lots of movies get made there. I heard that they like Vancouver because it's got everything from modern to 19th century so it's easy to find locations. Yeah, Kentucky's in the Eastern zone. Oklahoma is Central I believe. Indiana, where my Hobbit was hatched, is Central as well, unless you are in Indianapolis which is Eastern for half the year, then Central for half. They refuse to do daylight savings so for half the year it's a different time in Indianapolis from what it is in the entire rest of the state. Hoosiers are weird. I tell my own pet Hoosier that all the time. He's a Hoosier Hobbit!!! (she says, cackling insanely) . Oh I'm so tired!!! On the duct tape suspenders/strait jacket thing--masking tape might do better for that. I suspect that protective services might frown on using something on his skin that would remove the skin when you took it off. Plus he's cry all the time and the noise would drive Shannon nuts. (I'm kidding--don't even like to think what that stuff would do to that beautiful baby skin!!) <-----Bambi, not Rudolph Cheryl, so glad you finally got your bell rung. I hope you have a veritable Westminster Abbey of bells as soon as possible! IF that ever happens to me again, believe me I'll be jumping out of bed right after to come and tell you all!! Actually I never met a carbohydrate I didn't love, but I particularly love cake... hee hee hee. Joan, you're headed to the pharmacy? Is that where you get your quad cane? That is so exciting for you to be able to use it. Does that mean you get to use your own bathroom too, or is it still not accessible enough? Yes, I do live near Vancouver (I'm in a suburb, but it's still part of "Greater Vancouver") but I have to confess, I'm a Maritimer through and through. I was born and raised in Nova Scotia, and though I've been away longer than I actually lived there, it will always be home. Once a Bluenoser, always a Bluenoser (and yes, I've sailed on the Bluenose II-- the only schooner built that can stop on a dime!) Anita, if you come for the Olympics I can find you a room. I make no promises about transportation to and from the venues though. They say they have a transit plan in place, but where I live the transit is pathetic!! I'm checking out the new Sea to Sky Highway in early July-- my brother is coming for a visit and we're going to Whistler for a day. But that's been a nightmare drive ever since I've been out here and they're still going to be working on it right up until midnight on the night before the games begin!! Actually, most everyone I know is dreading the Olympics because it is going to end up being a very costly disruption to a lot of lives. But Canada is going to win the gold in hockey, so it'll be worth it!! ( she said, ducking for cover ) Did someone mention cake???? Deb p.s. Gee, THANKS A LOT, Jackie!!!! It's driving me crazy because I'm a total clean freak and I haven't done a thorough cleaning since Wednesday night!! I'm kind of nervous at how well I'm feeling - I feel like it's all going to hit me at once or something, but I really do feel good. Minimal cramping at times and hardly anything for discharge still. The only thing is getting tired by 7pm each day so far - but that should be wearing off soon. As far as location, I'm in Connecticut - so I'm with Joan in the Eastern Time Zone. The balloon animals story is cracking me up. Thank god I didn't hear that before my surgery or I would have been falling asleep thinking about it and laughing!! Have a good night everyone!! Check in tomorrow

No...he's not still on my lap...but in the meantime, my sister in law's kids came so I was taking care of 6 kids!! I am worn out!! Totally!! I actually never got out of my jammies, but I did manage to put my make-up on...so that's good! I did end up carrying in the cases last night, but it didn't bother me at all and my sister in law carried them out while I was talking to a hostess, so it's all good! I stayed up until almost 3 last night (this morning) watching the Batchelorette. I know it's tacky reality t.v., but I am always hooked on it!! They filmed the show in Vancouver and Deb...I have to say...WOW!! That place is gorgeous!! Every bit of scenery was absolutely breathtaking!! You are a lucky woman...that's for sure!! You guys are cracking me up with your balloon animals imagery!! Imagine a poodle up your hoo haa!! LOL I had the Novasure...which is a wire mesh...so all I could think about was medieval chain mail up my hoo haa! LOL The Knights of the Round Uterus!! LOL Okay...I've gone too far! LOL Too bad that you can't imagine Dr. Hottie as Sir Lancelot coming to rescue you from the Tampon King!! LOL I don't even want to know what the moat is made of!! LOL Okay...I went further with that then I thought I would! I once went into a hostess' house and she had a refridgerator in her bedroom....is that how you do it? You can make breakfast, lunch and dinner in between 'sessions'!! LOL Well...I know I missed someone here...I have to go, though...hubby is here and I need to figure out something for dinner....my fridge is in the kitchen.. :-( LOL Love, hugs and blessings! Shannon
