My name is Laurie and I am scheduled for an ablation (microwave) on Nov 13th. I am married and we have 3 boy ages 14, 5 and 2. My periods were always
"normal" up until I had my last child.....he really did a number on me. I have really heavy periods with large clots every time I go to the bathroom
and of course the cramps are terrible. My periods are starting to last longer as well. I also have spotting on and off about 1.5 before my period is due. My
Dr recommended the ablation. I had a vaginal ultrasound that showed a couple very small fibroids and had a follow up regular ultrasound that the fibroids
didn't show up on. I had a biopsy that was normal as well. At first I was against the ablation....just sounded a little harsh really but then I found
this wonderful board and have obviously changed my mind since. I am of course very nervous about the procedure but am really just anxious to get it over with.
I am having it done at the hospital under sedation and i'm just praying that i'm not in too much pain. I was told that I will feel cramping.....that I
can handle! I'm also nervous about the sedation.....i'm just not a fan of drugging myself up. It's iv sedation and that's all I know at this
point. I'm alway's worried that something will go wrong and I won't wake up from the sedation....i'm trying to reassure myself. So wish me
luck ladies and I will be sure to let you all know how it went. I'm pretty luck because my wonderful Mom is traveling 5 hours to help up out. She is
staying for a week and I am so grateful that she will be here if I need her!
