I had my novasure procedure done on 11/30/10 and all went well. I was awake through the procedure but sedated well. The worst part for me was the dilation part of the cervix. Couldn't seem to get me numb enough, but I survived. I had the normal watery, brownish discharge and mild to moderate cramping after the procedure. I went back to my nursing job on the 5th day and had a lot of pain and increased discharge from the constant lifting, tugging, etc. of the med cart and wheel chairs. I took some more time off until I went for my check up 10 days out and everything was going pretty well. On day 11, I started cramping horribly, worse than any period before and started bleeding, bright red, not brown. The cramping slowed to normal period cramps by the next day, but the heavy red bleeding continued. I called my doctor on day 14 and told them of the major bleeding and ask if this was normal. I'm talking soaking through pads during the night bleeding, not watery discharge. They told me to come in that afternoon. By lunchtime, the bleeding had slowed and was turning more pink so I called them back and they said it was up to me if I wanted to come in or not. They said it was possible that one small area of the uterus hadn't been ablated effectively and that was the possible cause. I decided to wait it out and see what happened. As of today, I am 18 days post-op and still bleeding. Sometimes pink, most times red and a good bit always. The worst part is that it is always running to the back of the pad, so I need two pads to keep my underwear from getting messed up. I have never felt great since the procedure, always crampy. Most times I feel like I cant really stand straight because I feel like it's pulling down there in the lower abdomen. My lower back aches a lot and my lower abdomen, where your tubes and ovaries are, sometimes have shooting pains. I have researched lots of sites and I can't find any info with my symptoms. I know I don't have the typical symptoms and obviously no infection. Has anyone had this experience?
