Gas and Bloating????? WHY????

Guys please help me understand why my stomach is so tight ,bloated and full of what feels like gas. How long will this last...I couldn't even put my jeans on last night and I can't stay in sweats forever especially b/c I am back to work tom! Cramping is gone it's just this yucky pressure ...please tell me it will be gone soon ....EA was Thusrday!

Same here! Someone told me it is usually caused by the anesthesia.

OMG, it's awful feels like I had some yummy Mexican ...but I never did

...do you feel tired too? I get up move around and then I feel drained like I just worked out or something. What else are you feeling?

I was bloated for about two weeks following the procedure. When I went back to work, my pants felt tight, and I was wearing pads for the spotting. Then the bloating went away quite suddenly. Hang in there, it will pass.

2 weeks ....I can't go 2 weeks feeling this way...UGGGG! Guess I better pull out my bigger clothes for work!

you'll certainly want to find your loose-fitting pants. It felt great to slip into pajamas at the end of the day! Good luck with your adventures In healing.

I know that feeling oh so well. Feels as if I have been inflated. Been up and around but nothing too physical. Just have to keep in mind our uterus has been through hell and back. Still have the soreness and no cramping. Also, I haven't even spotted. The pad they sent me home in had some discharge but since being home...NOTHING!

Hopefully you can find something to wear other than jeans. I definitely would take it easy on Monday. We have put our bodies through something that it is not used too.

Bloating can be horrible, and may be caused by the anasthetic. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids to help flush everything out of your system - have you been constipated as well? If so, it could be caused by pain meds. I found that for a couple of days I felt bloated, but then again I started my period five days after the ablation and that always left me feeling bloated. I hope this goes away soon.

I am in the same boat (had my procedure 2 days b4 yours). I attribute mine to the 3 bags of iv fluids they pumped into me. I am 10lbs heavier today than I was when I went in, and I have eaten LESS than normal. I have heard the same advice, that the bloating/gas/weight gain will abate in about 2 weeks.

Do they pump gas into the abdomen for the ablation? I know for a myomectomy done lap/abdominally they pump CO2 into you. Maybe that is part of the problem if fibroid removal was done in addition to the ablation?

Here's to hoping it goes away soon for both of us; I go back to work on Tuesday.

I just cant imagine feeling this way for 2 weeks and I dont know that I have enough clothes that fit me big enough to be comfy. Momo I must say your brave I dont want to get on the scale I know I am heavier b/c I can feel it and my boobs are bigger , which for me is always a sign of gain! This makes me sad b/c I had lost a little over 20 pounds and although gained 5 back over the Holidays was ready to get that off and then a little more ..plus I have to start training soon for my 10K which is April 2nd. I know I will lose it but still bothers me. There is no bleeding and no other issues thus far so I am grateful for that ! I have been able to go to the bathroom too so I guess thats another good start. Uggg this better all be worth it in the end . We women go through so much ...thank you guys for being there for me..I mention gas and the way I feel to my Husband and he makes a sad face ..he has no idea! Sooo thankful I have you guys !!

I'm 2 1/2 weeks post Novasure and my belly is still so puffy -- it's uncomfortable just sitting... I'm hoping this ends soon! Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints.

I'm 3 weeks post ablation and myomectomy and still bloated. I don't eat because i always feel full. I'm uncomfortable, and it's wearing me down. Please tell me this is going to go away soon.

Sad to say I am almost 1 year after my op and the bloating is worse than ever, no one seems willing or able to help.

So sorry to hear that, Lynn. I presume you've talked with your doctor about this...but please insist that it be taken seriously. The procedure is supposed to help our lives, not make them worse. If your doctor won't listen, then go to someone else. You also need to make sure that something else isn't going wrong. Please take care of yourself and find someone who will help you.

D&C, hysteroscopy, and NovaSure (HTA was attempted, but ended being a "no go") on July 16, 2012

Menstrual cycle was completely normal until I started Coumadin in February, 2012. Then all heck broke loose...blood, blood, blood...to the point of nearly passing out. Hence the reason for the above procedures! Pathology from EA indicated issues, so I had a hysterectomy on March 18, 2013

I had a uterine ablation & tubal ligation nearly 4 months ago. I am having horrible issues with bloating. It I bend at the waist I bloat horribly. If I wear pants that are the slightest to tight I bloat. If I eat one bite to much, I bloat. How long will this go on? I am taking Gas X like candy.

It's been almost 4 months since I had Nova Sure. I am having troubles with my stomach being bloated & lots of gas. I have never burped so much in my life. Some days my stomach is good & other days my stomach is really really bad. When my stomach is feeling bad I also get very dizzy & very tired but it's only when my stomach is upset.

Doctors also can prescribe Antacid that contain semethicon, helps to release gas from stomach. Activated charcoal could be taken before and after eating, though it may cause some side effects like constipation and black stool. In this situation, herbal remedies also works better. Drinking a cup of water containing a drop of peppermint extract, or a cup pf tea with ginger, anise, chamomile, can give a relief from stomach pain after eating problem.
